WAT Motor Offices – Istanbul
Studio 13 Architects designed a flexible layout for WAT Motor’s office in Istanbul, emphasizing circular motion, energy efficiency, and acoustic balance with modular designs and a warm, comfortable atmosphere.
WAT Motor is a leading motor company committed to providing durable and highly efficient motors and drives in Turkey. The concept we developed for WAT Motors is based on the working principles of the electric motor, which is the end product. We used key concepts such as circular motion, flow, energy, sustainability and efficiency to design the flexible layout as much as possible within the open office space. These circular movements lead us to a geometric language of more organic forms that represent ‘flow’.
The hybrid way of working has not only reinvented where we work, but also how we work. Our design includes many alternative workspaces for WAT employees. These spaces can be used collectively as a team or individually for focused work. Such spaces are more useful and allow people to work as a team. We have used modular designs that are easy to move around and change according to the needs of the team.
To create an acoustic balance, we used special sound-absorbing panels throughout the open office area. To create a warm and comfortable atmosphere, we’ve chosen blocks of contrasting colours inspired by the brand’s heritage, we’ve prepared a rich colour palette based on WAT’s corporate colour scheme, but in a more pastel and harmonious way. We designed an office where everyone can find their own place to work, with private and focused zones for everyone.
