  • Perkins Eastman recently completed the new headquarters for Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. (Dickie McCamey), a legacy law firm with nearly 120 years of history in Pittsburgh. Located in Four Gateway Center, a prominent downtown address, the firm’s new office spans five floors and embraces a forward-thinking design that honors its longstanding commitment to the city while supporting modern workplace needs.

“The move to our new headquarters marks an exciting chapter for our law firm,” said Christopher Lee, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Dickie McCamey. “Our new home is equipped with the state-of-the-art features and amenities that will cultivate our commitment to the values of effective and efficient delivery of legal services.”

The interior fit-out reimagines the traditional law office structure. Private offices are uniformly sized and located along the perimeter, while collaborative “neighborhoods” of workstations occupy central zones. The prime corner offices—once reserved for senior partners—are now huddle and focus rooms, underscoring a shift toward transparency, equity, and adaptability.

Key amenity spaces include a central work café, hydration stations, and a range of meeting areas designed to foster spontaneous collaboration and social connection. Interior glass partitions, exposed ceilings, and refined millwork contribute to a contemporary yet professional aesthetic that reflects both the firm’s culture and the architectural character of Pittsburgh.

In a unique move for a downtown firm, Dickie McCamey also established a ground-level presence with the new Dickie McCamey Conferencing Center. Designed as a flexible, high-impact venue for internal meetings, client events, and community programming, the center includes three training rooms with operable partitions, allowing for multiple configurations. Expansive windows promote visual transparency, reinforcing the firm’s connection to the broader downtown community.

An extensive art collection curated by James Gelley and augmented by new pieces specially commissioned for the new office adds a distinctive local and cultural layer to the space. Throughout the headquarters, design choices support both the firm’s operational goals and its evolving identity—positioning Dickie McCamey for future growth while honoring its deep roots in Pittsburgh.
